ISDN
Internet service may be purchased as 2 64K B channels (128K) service for
$69 / month, paid monthly. The 6 month rate is $62.85 / month
($377.10), and the yearly rate is $59.95 / month ($719.40). There is a
one-time $40 set-up fee.
ISDN service requires that a special ISDN line be installed to the customer site by Pacific Bell, just a a dial-up line requires a phone line. There is a one-time $200 installation fee for non-Centrex and $250 for Centrex installation to the customer terminal. Inside wiring provided by Pac Bell, or another telephone company at an extra charge.
Centrex ISDN lines are available from Pacific Bell to customers connected to the same Grass Valley telephone exchange as Grass Valley Net. (You are connected to the same exchange if your telephone prefix is of of the following: 271, 272, 273, 274, or 477) The advantage to Centrex service is that there is no hourly usage charges for the telco ISDN line, only a flat rate of $75/month.
Non-Centrex lines are available from Pacific Bell for customers who are not connected to the same telephone exchange. The charge is $35/month + usage fees, depending on the distance, time of day, duration of the call. Please call Pac Bell for these fees. Local usage fees are approximately $0.58/hr during the day, $0.40/hr in the evening, and $0.23/hr nights and weekends depending on your distance from the telephone company. You should call the telephone company for exact rates.
