Below is a list of common errors that
occur while browsing the web. Most of these errors occur at the web-server trying to be
reached -not your internet
service provider.400 - Bad Request
401 - Unauthorized
403 - Forbidden
404 - Not Found
503 - Service Unavailable
Unable to Locate the Server "www.hostname.com" Does Not
Have a DNS Entry
Document Contains No Data
Connection Refused by Host
Network Connection was Refused by the Server
Too Many Connections -- Try Again Later
Error 400 - Bad Request:
The request could not be understood by the server due to malformed syntax. The
client SHOULD NOT repeat the request without modifications. Re-enter the URL (Web Address)
and try again.
Error 401: Unauthorized
The request requires user authentication. If you were asked for a password, you
must supply a valid password to view the requested page.
Error 403: Forbidden
The server understood the request, but is refusing to fulfill it. Authorization
will not help and the request SHOULD NOT be repeated.
Error 404: File Not Found
The server has not found anything matching the Requested URL (web address). No
indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
Error 503: Service Unavailable
The server is currently unable to handle the request due to a temporary
overloading or maintenance of the server. The implication is that this is a temporary
condition which will be alleviated after some delay.
Unable to Locate Server; "www.host.com" Does Not Have a
DNS Entry
Possible causes:
1. You have become disconnected from the network. Check your connection to be
certain that this is not the cause.
2. Dial-Up networking settings incorrect. Click HERE to check these settings
3. The URL (Web Address) is incorrect.
Document Contains No Data
The requested webpage is not in the proper format.
