How to Put Your Webpages Online with GV Net

If you are publishing a personal or business page with out a domain name,
you're on the right page. Please follow the instructions below.

If you are publishing a webpage under a domain name, click HERE for instructions.
Othewise, continue to read on.

1.  Create the html documents and graphics

a.  Create your own webpage, using an HTML editor such as Adobe PageMill, Netscape Composer, or Microsoft Publisher.

b.   If you need help creating the webpage you may want to hire a web designer.

c.  Get online help

2. Call Grass Valley Net (477-2237) and request a "www directory"

3.  Transfer your HTML and graphic files to www.gv.net

a.  If you are using an HTML editor such as Adobe PageMill or Netscape Composer, there is a publish function. If you areUsing FTP, login to host www.gv.net using your login and password.

b.  Change to the directory called "webpage".

c.  Transfer your files there.  They are now on the web. 

Your URL is:  www.gv.net/~yourlogin

If your starting file is called "index.htm" or "index.html", it will auto-load.

d.  When you are ready, e-mail david@gv.net to have your webpage listed in our website listing.
