To run the internet wizard, Click on START, RUN, then
type "inetwiz" in the box (without the quotation marks), and
then click OK.
When the INTERNET CONNECTION WIZARD starts, the following windows appear:
a) Set Up Your Internet Connection.
Select "Connect using my phone
line", then click NEXT.
b) Dial-Up Connection. (This step will not
appear if this is the
first dialup connection to be established)
Select "Create a new dial-up
connection", then click NEXT.
c) Phone Number.
Enter the area code, telephone
number, and country code in the
appropriate boxes.
The phone numbers for your area may be
obtained by calling the GV.NET office at 530-477-2237.
Click the box next to:
"Dial using area code and country code"
to remove the check mark. Then click NEXT.
d) User Name and Password.
Enter your User Name (also known as
Login ID) and your password
in the appropriate boxes, then
click NEXT.
e) Connection Name.
Enter "GV.NET" in the box, then click NEXT.
f) Set Up Your Internet Email Account.
Select YES to the question:
"Do you want to set up an Internet
email account now? Then click NEXT.
g) Your Name.
Enter Your
name in the box labeled "Display Name".
Example: John Smith
Then
click NEXT.
h) Internet E-mail Address.
Enter you email address in the
box labeled "Email Address".
Then click NEXT.
i) E-mail Server Names.
Your email server is a POP3 server.
The incoming mail server is:
mail.gv.net
The outgoing mail server is:
smtp.gv.net
Click NEXT after filling in the
blanks.
j) Account Name
Enter your
username in the blank "Account Name"
Example: jdoe
Enter your
password Then click NEXT.
IMPORTANT!
DO NOT select "Log on using Secure Password
Athentication" !!!!
k) Complete Configuration.
Click FINISH.
