1) Install and configure a modem. If your modem is
already configured,
skip this step.
a) Install a 28.8k or better modem.
b) Configure it under MY COMPUTER, CONTROL PANEL, MODEMS.
2) Setup the GV.NET TOOLKIT diskette.
a) Select START, RUN. Type:
A:SETUP.EXE in the dialog box.
b) Put GV.NET TOOLKIT diskette #1 in the drive, and click OK.
c) Follow the prompts to run SETUP.EXE
SETUP will ask for your login User ID and real name
(be sure not
to enter your e-mail address for a USER ID), then copy the programs
and create a folder and program shortcuts. Follow the prompts as
instructed by SETUP.
3) Next, run the INTERNET WIZARD to setup Windows 95
Networks. The
INTERNET WIZARD is used for setup only, and won't be used again
unless you need to change network settings.
The INTERNET WIZARD will automatically appear when
the GVNET
TOOLKIT SETUP is finished.
Note: If you get an error message when the INTERNET WIZARD attempts
to run, or the INTERNET WIZARD does not appear, here's what to do:
1) Click on START,
RUN.
2) At the RUN prompt, type this command:
inetwiz <enter>

Restart your computer IF prompted to do so.
4) Add GV.NET TOOLKIT to your START menu.
a) Using the right mouse button, click the START
button.
b) Click OPEN (with the left button)
c) Double click PROGRAMS to open the folder.
d) Drag and drop the GVNET TOOLKIT folder over to the START button,
or the DESKTOP, whichever you prefer.
5) Drag GV.NET icon from DIAL-UP NETWORKING to the GV.NET folder.
Here's how:
a) Bring up the DIAL-UP NETWORKING folder (under MY
COMPUTER).
b) Make sure the DIAL-UP NETWORKING window is sized small.
c) Click the START button, then GV.NET TOOLKIT. Resize it small.
e) Be sure both folder windows are visible, sized small.
f) Drag and drop the GVNET connection icon to the GVNET TOOLKIT
g) Allow Windows to create a shortcut. Answer YES when prompted
6. You are now ready to dial-up the Internet. Double
click your
gv.net dialup connection and connect. Once connected, you are
ready to use the other GVNET TOOLKIT programs.
