Dialup Setup

 

1) Run the Internet Connection Wizard.

Click START, RUN, type "inetwiz" in the box (without the quotation marks), then
click OK.

The INTERNET CONNECTION WIZARD will appear:

a)   Set Up Your Internet Connection.
          Select "Connect using my phone line", then click NEXT.

b)   Dial-Up Connection. (This step may not appear)
          Select "Create a new dial-up connection", then click NEXT.

c)   Phone Number.
          Enter 205-2016 if you are in the Grass Valley area.

          Click the box next to: "Dial using area code and country code" to remove
          the check mark. Then click NEXT.

d)   User Name and Password.
          Enter your username and your password, then click NEXT.

e)   Advanced Settings.
          Select NO, then click NEXT.

f)   Dial-Up Connection Name.
          Enter "GV Net" in the box, then click NEXT.

g)   Set Up Your Internet Email Account.
          Select YES, then click NEXT.

h)   Internet Mail Account.
          Select "Create a New Internet email Account". Then click Next.

i)    Your Name.
          Enter your name as you would like it to appear, then click next.

j)    Internet E-mail Address.
          Enter you email address, then click Next.

k)     E-mail Server Names.
          Your email server is a POP3 server.
          The incoming mail server is: mail.gv.net
          The outgoing mail server is: smtp.gv.net
          Click Next after filling in the blanks.

l)    Internet Mail Logon
          Select "Log on using".
          Enter your username (Account name) and password. Then click next.

m)    Friendly Name.
          Accept the default "mail.gv.net" Then click Next.

n)   Set Up Your Internet News Account.
          Select NO, then click NEXT.

o)   Set Up Your Internet Directory Service.
          Select NO, then click NEXT.

p)   Complete Configuration.
          Click FINISH.

2) Place a shortcut to gv.net on the desktop:

          a)  Open MYCOMPUTER, DIALUP NETWORKING.

          b)   Right click the gv.net icon. Left click "Create shortcut ". Click YES.
